Welcome to Wauchope Arts

Welcome to our home on the web. This is where you find out what’s happening at Wauchope Arts as well as other community arts news. This site provides an information service to our members and anyone who is interested in attending or getting involved in the events and activities offered by the Wauchope Community Arts Council. We are a group of passionate volunteers who value the role of the arts in community building and we aim to provide diverse cultural experiences for Wauchope and beyond.

The Wauchope Community Arts Hall is just that - community. It is one of the most intimate venues in the Hastings that attracts acts of extraordinary quality and it feels as if they are playing in your lounge room with a bunch of your best friends.

.... it's all happening at the Wauchope Arts Hall

FRED SMITH (Saturday Feb 10, 2018)
- musical musings with an unusual mix of knowledge & experience
Fred Smith is an Australian alternative singer/songwriter who writes about love and war zones.
A former Australian diplomat, Fred has been a favourite on the Australian festival circuit for years much-loved for his gentle wit, gift for story and melody, and sublime collaborations with Liz Frencham and The Spooky Men's Chorale.
He was the subject of an outstanding ABC Australian Story feature about his work in Afghanistan and the South Pacific.
Wauchope Arts is thrilled this esteemed songwriter, comedian, raconteur and author has chosen to return to present songs from his new album Great, and his rich back catalogue.
Liz Frencham will accompany Fred on double base.
It’s a show not to be missed!

TIM McMILLAN & RACHEL SNOW (Friday Feb 16, 2018)
- distinctive mix of Celtic rock, folk, metal & jazz
Australian guitarist Tim McMillan has been performing his unique style of acoustic music for over a decade.
He is a percussive fingerstyle guitarist and an outlandish yarn spinner, who currently performs over 100 concerts each year across Europe with violinist and sidekick Rachel Snow.
The duo offers a distinctive mix of musical styles including Celtic rock, folk, metal and jazz.
Their latest album Hiraeth is a collection of instrumental pieces and songs composed and recorded during a year touring through Germany, Italy, Iceland, Sweden, Poland and the UK. The album also features a variety of guest musicians from the rock world, including members of Motörhead, The Sisters of Mercy, Ugly Kid Joe and Mr Bungle.
It is a rare treat to see Tim and Rachel perform on home soil, and their Wauchope Arts show promises to be a lively performance, filled with athletic guitar stunts, interwoven violin antics and a magical blend of vocals accompanied by hilarious tales of life in the Australian bush.

*ONLINE TICKET SALES - www.trybooking.com
Wauchope Arts is trialling a system where a portion of some event tickets is available for purchase online - this is the preferred option for some performers, and it's a convenient way for audience members to purchase tickets.
A quantity of tickets will be also available for sale at the door for each event.
Given the Arts Hall is a small venue, it can be difficult to seat everyone, so we have adopted a No-Reserved-Seating policy - this means seats are allocated on arrival, so please arrive on time!
If the TryBooking website indicates an event is SOLD OUT, you can enquire how many tickets have been held for sale the door by SMS message to 0429 854 733.
We always strive to support members, particular those who support Wauchope Arts by regularly attending events, so if you experience any problems, please provide your feedback by email - webmaster@wauchopearts.org.au.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this trial phase.
