Welcome to Wauchope Arts

Welcome to our home on the web. This is where you find out what’s happening at Wauchope Arts as well as other community arts news. This site provides an information service to our members and anyone who is interested in attending or getting involved in the events and activities offered by the Wauchope Community Arts Council. We are a group of passionate volunteers who value the role of the arts in community building and we aim to provide diverse cultural experiences for Wauchope and beyond.

The Wauchope Community Arts Hall is just that - community. It is one of the most intimate venues in the Hastings that attracts acts of extraordinary quality and it feels as if they are playing in your lounge room with a bunch of your best friends.

.... it's all happening at the Wauchope Arts Hall

SISTA SING (Mar 11, 2017)
- for International Women's Day 2017
A super cool way to celebrate all the women singer-songwriters who have shaped our lives.
Come along to the Arts Hall to hear music from such greats as Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Carole King, Janis Joplin and Joan Armatrading, performed by a dazzling line up of great local women musicians.
International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. This year's theme (designated by the United Nations) is #BeBoldForChange - which calls on everyone to help forge a more inclusive, gender-equal world.
Around the globe, the focus of IWD celebrations differ, however most point towards the economic, political and social achievements of women.
At Wauchope Arts, IWD has become an occasion for people to express their respect and appreciation for women in a way we are all familiar with – through music.

THE EAST POINTERS (March 25, 2017)
- energetic yet organic, celebratory yet cool
The East Pointers' beautiful songs, feisty instrumental jigs, stomps and reels have become a hallmark of their free-wheeling music.
Ontario guitarist Jake Charron and 7 th generation Prince Edward Island musicians Tim (fiddle) and Koady Chaisson (banjo) make traditional music seem ridiculously hip.
For a band barely together 2 years, they are in extraordinary demand live and have been Woodfood and Small Halls festival favourites in Australia.
We are thrilled the Wauchope Arts Hall has been included in their post-WOMAD tour.
Be quick - the Arts Hall will be packed to the rafters.

"The talent is flat-out- knock-you-on-your- ass calibre."
The Guardian (CAN)

Mat Brooker unleashes exciting nuevo flamenco guitar music with lightning speed and fearless improvisation.
Armed with only a Spanish guitar and stompbox, he was the winner of Australian National Busking Championships 2016 and has wowed audiences at the Arts Hall, as well as Woodford, Bello Winter Music and Adelaide International Guitar Festival.
Mat presents original material from his latest album “Ocean City Sounds” and will be joined by guest vocalist Elizabeth Robinson.

*ONLINE TICKET SALES - www.trybooking.com
Wauchope Arts is trialling a system where a portion of some event tickets is available for purchase online - this is the preferred option for some performers, and it's a convenient way for audience members to purchase tickets.
A quantity of tickets will be also available for sale at the door for each event.
Given the Arts Hall is a small venue, it can be difficult to seat everyone, so we have adopted a No-Reserved-Seating policy - this means seats are allocated on arrival, so please arrive on time!
If the TryBooking website indicates an event is SOLD OUT, you can enquire how many tickets have been held for sale the door by SMS message to 0429 854 733.
We always strive to support members, particular those who support Wauchope Arts by regularly attending events, so if you experience any problems, please provide your feedback by email - webmaster@wauchopearts.org.au.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this trial phase.
