Welcome to Wauchope Arts

Welcome to our home on the web. This is where you find out what’s happening at Wauchope Arts as well as other community arts news. This site provides an information service to our members and anyone who is interested in attending or getting involved in the events and activities offered by the Wauchope Community Arts Council. We are a group of passionate volunteers who value the role of the arts in community building and we aim to provide diverse cultural experiences for Wauchope and beyond.

The Wauchope Community Arts Hall is just that - community. It is one of the most intimate venues in the Hastings that attracts acts of extraordinary quality and it feels as if they are playing in your lounge room with a bunch of your best friends.

LIVE MUSIC, MOVIES, FUNDRAISERS ...
.... it's all happening at the Wauchope Arts Hall

SONGS THAT SHAPED US
- Paul Kelly 'reimagined' by local musicians
This laid-back evening of music and friendship will feature local musicians as they pay tribute to legendary Australian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and harmonica player, Paul Kelly, and the songs that have shaped our lives.
You can look forward to hearing such songs as 'To her door' and 'Before too long' amongst others, as they are 'reimagined' by local artists.
In true Wauchope Arts style you'll feel like you're in your own lounge room jamming with a bunch of friends.

RASA DUENDE
- a fusion feast of Indian and flamenco music
Rasa Duende is a collaboration between acclaimed international musicians Bobby Singh (Tabla), Adrian McNeil (Sarod) and Damian Wright (Flamenco Guitar).
Rasa Duende's music explores meeting points between Hindustani and Flamenco traditions through a deep understanding and engagement with both of these highly expressive music cultures.
Their performances share the melodies, rhythms and aesthetic thought deeply embedded in both music cultures.
Through the primacy of improvisation, the artists respectfully engage with a range of this traditional material, and then arrange it into a new collaborative setting.
This approach allows the artists to create a sound that is both fresh and unique but, at the same time, deeply rooted in the tradition.
The result is an exciting and tasteful mixing of two rich traditions and a sound that is fresh, unique and deeply rooted in the history of these two cultures.
A genuine melding of sounds and cultures. A truly great release from this talented trio (Sydney Morning Herald)

*ONLINE TICKET SALES - www.trybooking.com
Wauchope Arts is trialling a system where a portion of some event tickets is available for purchase online - this is the preferred option for some performers, and it's a convenient way for audience members to purchase tickets.
A quantity of tickets will be also available for sale at the door for each event.
Given the Arts Hall is a small venue, it can be difficult to seat everyone, so we have adopted a No-Reserved-Seating policy - this means seats are allocated on arrival, so please arrive on time!
If the TryBooking website indicates an event is SOLD OUT, you can enquire how many tickets have been held for sale the door by SMS message to 0429 854 733.
We always strive to support members, particular those who support Wauchope Arts by regularly attending events, so if you experience any problems, please provide your feedback by email - webmaster@wauchopearts.org.au.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this trial phase.
