Welcome to Wauchope Arts

Welcome to our home on the web. This is where you find out what’s happening at Wauchope Arts as well as other community arts news. This site provides an information service to our members and anyone who is interested in attending or getting involved in the events and activities offered by the Wauchope Community Arts Council. We are a group of passionate volunteers who value the role of the arts in community building and we aim to provide diverse cultural experiences for Wauchope and beyond.

The Wauchope Community Arts Hall is just that - community. It is one of the most intimate venues in the Hastings that attracts acts of extraordinary quality and it feels as if they are playing in your lounge room with a bunch of your best friends.

REVIEW:
"In recent years, Bostonís Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory have added extra fire to that cityís already churning cauldron of traditional string players. Out of this spicy soup jumps Mile Twelve, a group of five accomplished bluegrass musicians who write, sing, and play like the wind. Serious players who have serious fun, Mile Twelve is a group to watch in the coming decade."
Tim O'Brien

WALLIS BIRD (Thursday November 9, 2017)
- bold, frank and endearingly tender
Winner of two Irish Music Awards, Wallis Bird's expressive vocals and driving guitar rhythms have been taking audiences by storm in the UK, Europe, Australia and Japan.
Every performance is characterised by a startling passion and presence that frequently leaves her breathless and her guitar strings shredded.
Her extraordinary energy left the Arts Hall audience spellbound during her last performance.
Wallis Bird’s songs combine elements of traditional folk music, blues and funk with a rock sound.
Wallis returns to Australia in November to perform at Mullum Music Festival, and later at the iconic Woodford Folk Festival. In between she’s playing selected venues along the east coast.
A string of local support acts have been signed on the tour, including former local musician Vena Klymo, who will open for Wallis at Wauchope.

*ONLINE TICKET SALES - www.trybooking.com
Wauchope Arts is trialling a system where a portion of some event tickets is available for purchase online - this is the preferred option for some performers, and it's a convenient way for audience members to purchase tickets.
A quantity of tickets will be also available for sale at the door for each event.
Given the Arts Hall is a small venue, it can be difficult to seat everyone, so we have adopted a No-Reserved-Seating policy - this means seats are allocated on arrival, so please arrive on time!
If the TryBooking website indicates an event is SOLD OUT, you can enquire how many tickets have been held for sale the door by SMS message to 0429 854 733.
We always strive to support members, particular those who support Wauchope Arts by regularly attending events, so if you experience any problems, please provide your feedback by email - webmaster@wauchopearts.org.au.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this trial phase.
